Tragedy struck the Kildee family early Tuesday morning when Timothy Kildee, the brother of Michigan Congressman Dan Kildee, was shot and killed by his own son during a domestic dispute in Vienna Township. The incident, which unfolded across three different scenes, began around 3 a.m.

The Genesee County Sheriff, Chris Swanson, described the situation as a heartbreaking event involving a high-profile family beloved by the community. The son, whose identity has not been disclosed, allegedly jumped out of a moving vehicle driven by his mother before proceeding to Timothy Kildee's residence.

Upon arrival at his father's home, the son reportedly engaged in a verbal confrontation, brandishing a gun and demanding Timothy Kildee's wallet and keys. Tragically, the situation escalated, resulting in the fatal shooting of Timothy Kildee. The suspect then fled the scene in his father's vehicle, leading to a high-impact crash with another vehicle that left two individuals injured.

Law enforcement officials have the suspect in custody, though charges have not yet been filed. Prosecutor David Leyton indicated that potential charges may include open murder, carjacking, armed robbery, and motor vehicle offenses. The investigation is ongoing, with toxicology reports pending.
