Carla Gugino recently shared her thoughts on being cast as a mother of two school-aged children at the age of 27 in the original 'Spy Kids' movie. The actress, known for her role as Ingrid Cortes in the 2001 action-adventure film directed by Robert Rodriguez, expressed amusement at the casting decision.

Gugino humorously recalled her initial reaction to the role, stating, 'It was a really beautiful kind of double-edged sword because I love that movie so much.' Despite being significantly younger than the character she portrayed, Gugino praised the overall experience of working on the film alongside co-stars Antonio Banderas, Alexa PenaVega, and Daryl Sabara.

Reflecting on her audition process, Gugino revealed that Rodriguez had already begun filming before meeting with her about the role.
