Samsung has announced that it will be rolling out its flagship AI features to older Galaxy handsets starting from the end of March. This move will bring the new Galaxy AI technology to almost all major mobile devices launched by Samsung in 2023, including the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, the latest Fold and Flip handsets, and the Tab S9 series.

The company's President and head of mobile, TM Roh, stated that this is just the beginning of Galaxy AI and that they aim to extend this experience to over 100 million Galaxy users by 2024. By offering these AI tools such as Live Translate, Circle to Search, Note Assist, and generative image editing to existing users for free, Samsung is making a significant stride in enhancing user experience.

While the generosity of providing these features for free until at least the end of 2025 is commendable, there is speculation that Samsung may introduce paid subscriptions for some of these features in the future. This move could potentially open up a new revenue stream for the company, leveraging the large user base of Galaxy devices.
