The Playmaker, a prominent sales agency, has successfully closed a series of pre-sales agreements for the highly anticipated animated film 'Ploey 2 - The Legend of the Winds.' The film was unveiled to international buyers for the first time at the European Film Market held this month.
During the event, The Playmaker showcased an exclusive first-look teaser of the film at its booth in Berlin, along with a promotional video for attending buyers. Described as 'an endearing and funny road movie for the whole family about pursuing your own ideals to serve the greater good,' the sequel to the popular 'Ploey - You Never Fly Alone' is set to captivate audiences.
'Ploey 2' will center on Ploveria, Ploey's independent female friend, who embarks on a quest to ensure the arrival of spring and fulfill an ancient legend. The film is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2026.
The Playmaker successfully secured distribution deals for 'Ploey 2' with several key international partners. The film was acquired by KMBO for France, Kinoswiat for Poland, Neo Films for Greece, Selim Ramia for the Middle East and North Africa, GPI for the Baltic States, Pro Films for Bulgaria, Blitz Film for Former Yugoslavia, and Bir Film for Turkey.
The storyline of 'Ploey 2' revolves around a legend that Plovers are the heralds of spring, and their absence could lead to an eternal winter in the northern hemisphere. When faced with the threat of perpetual winter, a young idealistic plover assembles a group of unconventional feathered companions to thwart the evil Ice Queen's plans.
Ploveria, leaving behind her comfortable life in the south, joins forces with her newfound friends to confront the Ice Queen and her formidable army of ravens. Their mission is to ensure the arrival of spring and fulfill the ancient prophecy, promising an exciting and heartwarming cinematic experience for audiences.
'Ploey 2 - The Legend of the Winds' is produced by Sigurðsson and Haukur Sigurjónsson at GunHil, with co-production by Viviane Vanfleteren and Veerle Appelmans at Vivi Films.
