A senior Hamas official has labeled Israel's recent strike on Iran as an 'escalation in the region.' The official, Sami Abu Zuhri, called for an increase in actions against the Israeli occupation in response to what he described as a 'war of genocide in Gaza' and heightened tensions in the area.

Earlier this year, Hamas leaders engaged in discussions with Iranian counterparts, garnering significant attention. The meeting appeared to be aimed at endorsing and commending a United Nations Security Council resolution that called for a cease-fire in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

During a press conference, Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas, joined Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Abdollahian in praising the U.N. resolution. They viewed it as a significant setback to Israel's political and military objectives.
