Authorities in Washington state are currently investigating a series of shootings that occurred along Interstate 5 in King County, resulting in injuries to at least two individuals. The incidents have prompted a swift response from law enforcement agencies as they work to gather more information and identify the perpetrators.
The first shooting took place in the northbound lanes at 320th Street, where a passenger in a vehicle sustained injuries. Shortly after, another shooting occurred on the northbound lanes near I-90, injuring another passenger. A third shooting incident, reportedly at NB 5 at MLK, is still awaiting confirmation.
According to King County Trooper Rick Johnson of the Washington State Patrol, the suspect vehicle involved in the initial shooting at 320th Street was described as a white Volvo with California plates. However, details regarding the suspect vehicle in the subsequent incidents are yet to be determined as authorities continue their active investigation.
Following the shootings, two women were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Their current conditions remain unclear as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the violent incidents.
In response to the shootings, traffic on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near 320th Street in Federal Way was briefly halted early Tuesday to allow troopers to search for evidence along the roadway.
