The FBI has uncovered a significant discovery in a Texas storage locker connected to the Bourbon Street terrorist, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who was identified as the perpetrator of the New Year's attack in New Orleans. The storage unit, rented by Jabbar and located near his Houston-area residence in Harris County, yielded bottles of sulfuric acid during a recent search conducted by the FBI and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Sulfuric acid, a commonly used chemical with commercial availability, can be combined with other substances to create explosives. This finding was part of a court-authorized law enforcement operation at the facility, with FBI Houston confirming that there is no immediate threat to the public.

Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S. citizen, drove a Ford pickup truck into a crowd on Bourbon Street during the early hours of New Year's Day, prompting the FBI to launch a terrorism investigation. Following the vehicular attack, Jabbar engaged in a shootout with law enforcement before being fatally shot at the scene.

Authorities also discovered bomb-making materials at Jabbar's rented Airbnb in New Orleans, along with two improvised explosive devices that failed to detonate. The FBI disclosed that an ISIS flag, weapons, and an additional IED were recovered from the vehicle used by Jabbar during the attack.
