10 films nominated for top Producers Guild award.

The Producers Guild has announced the nominees for its top award, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award, with 10 films in contention. The announcement was delayed due to the Los Angeles wildfires, prompting an extension of the voting period to accommodate affected members.
The nominated films include a diverse range of genres such as science-fiction sequel “Dune: Part Two,” fairy tale “Anora,” and Munich Olympics drama “September 5.” Other nominees are “The Brutalist,” “A Complete Unknown,” “Conclave,” “Emilia Pérez,” “A Real Pain,” “The Substance,” and “Wicked.”
The Producers Guild's award is highly regarded as an indicator of potential Oscar success. Over the past five years, PGA winners have often aligned with the Academy Awards' best picture winners, reinforcing its significance in the industry.
Notably, four films have secured nominations from the top guilds - Producers Guild, Directors Guild, and Screen Actors Guild. These films are “Anora,” “Conclave,” “Emilia Pérez,” and “A Complete Unknown,” indicating their strong presence in the awards season.
In the animated feature category, the PGA nominated five films for the best animated feature of 2024. The nominees are “Flow,” “Inside Out 2,” “Moan 2,” “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” and “The Wild Robot,” showcasing the diversity and creativity in animated storytelling.
The winners of the Producers Guild Awards will be revealed at an upcoming ceremony in Los Angeles on Feb. 8. Additionally, the guild has pledged to contribute a portion of the proceeds from the awards to a fund supporting producers impacted by the wildfires, demonstrating solidarity and support within the industry.
