John Ramsey has been advocating for retesting evidence, including DNA samples, in hopes of identifying the perpetrator. He emphasized the importance of utilizing advanced genetic genealogy databases and technology to potentially solve the case.

There are over 20 items related to the case that have never been tested, such as the garrote around JonBenet's neck, the ransom note, a suitcase believed to be used by the killer, an unknown flashlight, and rope found in the Ramsey house.

Ramsey's push for retesting DNA evidence is based on the belief that modern technology could provide new leads in the investigation. He expressed hope that partnering with cutting-edge labs could bring justice for his daughter, even if it doesn't lead to immediate results.

Authorities have reviewed thousands of pieces of evidence and reports, with the Colorado Cold Case Review team offering additional tips for the department to pursue. The potential collaboration with independent labs and access to private databases represents a significant step forward in the quest for closure in JonBenet's case.
